Comics and Charity at the Hartford Public Library

NaNoWriMo Hartford Public Library

Who says con season is over? We’ll be spending this Saturday, November 22 at the Hartford Public Library as they bring together comic book creators, artists and writers in a spectacular event.  The happening runs from 11AM to 3PM. It is all part of NaNoWriMo ComBo Fest and the One Book Event that is celebrating the Graphic Novel.

And the best part? A large portion of the proceeds go to the library! By stopping by and picking up artwork and comics, you aren’t just helping budding artists, you are funding reading programs, classes and the other good work the library does for the Hartford community.

You can see more and let us know if you are coming on our Facebook Event Page. Hope we see you there!

Self Publisher Magazine Features Wayward Raven

Issue 79 of Self Publisher Magazine features a nice piece about Wayward Raven. Our CEO Mark C. Frankel sits down with Steve Pennella to talk about comic creation, conventions, and what it is like to run a small press. The issue takes readers from the company's inception to some key moments along the way and finally finishes with a bit about our books. Self Publisher Magazine #79 - Featuring Wayward Raven

CTO Alex Sapountzis and Editor-in-Chief Joshua L.A. Jones get the opportunity to chime in as well and offer insight into our growing business. Jokes are made, advice is offered and a nice discount is given if the reader is brave enough to stay through the whole thing. Hope you'll take a peek!

Also, be sure to visit Self Publisher Magazine's website. Tell 'em we sent you!

It's Movember

It's that time of the year, where everything is just a bit more...hairy? Yes true believers, it's Movember, the time of year where dudes try to grow silly looking mustaches in an effort to get attention for men's health and cancer research. This time around, I'll be throwing my stache into the fire, along with my buddies (or Mo Bros, as we're being asked to call them) to get some cash for the Movember Foundation.

Join me, Geek Cast Rob Bass, Yesh and Oscar Smith, as we form Team Moltron. Together we'll fight the forces of evil, while sporting some wicked awesome mustaches.
