NYCC, DiversityCon, and Kickstarter. Going digital.

NYCC and DiversityCon have gone virtual.

And we’re joining Diversity Con and doing something we normally don’t, a Kickstarter campaign.

Though not fully sorted, we are trying to be a part of Diversity Con put together by the awesome Ramon Gil. Lots of great guests from a variety of industry backgrounds. Please do have a look. Should be fun!

It is free and online. Cool people like Amy Chu and Christian Cooper will be guests. So are our friends Ramon Gil and Gamal Hennessy.

BUT— NYCC is no go this year. Obviously.

The NYCC Metaverse (which I always read as meatverse—the strangest of poetry styles) will be off since we cannot justify the cost. I’m sure featured guests doing panels will do great. We just happen to be running out of money. During the NYCC metaverse events, we will keep our signal channels open for anyone who wants to contact us. We will try to do some videos and such too.

Now for the important stuff: our Kickstarter campaign.

Why a Kickstarter campaign?

Let’s face it. We are a small indy comic book group. Our survival depended on exhibiting at cons. We can’t go out so we will bring our new offerings to you. As are many, we are struggling to survive this pandemic. We need your help to persist and keep our doors open until we can do cons again.

Every sale counts, and always has, but now more than ever. We are using the Kickstarter to offer discounted books too. The estimated date is October 14th but we will announce it officially soon.

Have a first look.

Preview: The Ascendant #4. Raising Hell with Cail. A kickstarter journey.

Greetings from the birthing pits!!

The tale of Cail and his daddy issues raising Hell in The Ascendant #4 continues…

The Ascendant Issue #4 is where we finally get to see what Cail’s home in Hell looked like along with his true reasons for escaping his fate as a Hell Royal. There’s a spell, a mind merging, a bit of swords and demonic minions thrust about. And, we meet Cail’s dad. He’s not happy. Not many demon lords are but this is special. Hope you like action and surprises!

If you haven’t been privy to The Ascendant comic book series, here’s a quick rundown.

Issue #1 has Cail, a recently escaped demon, face a nemesis with magic armor made of human skin, enchanted of course, and he sacks Rome to find a way. Guess what? Cail’s a good guy.

Issue #2 has Cail leaving the city in search of another enemy and he finds himself in the clutches of a super special seer and some time is spent in a volcano.

Issue #3 had Cail brought to Venice where he searches for enlightenment and a bit of fun in the church archives. Sword fights on roofs of course.

Here’s the thing. Issue #5 is in-process as the finishing touches of The Ascendant #4 get done. It is a 7 issue limited series. Normally, we introduce new issues at conventions but that’s not happening in 2020 and probably not for a good portion of 2012. Seems the only flight path is through Kickstarter and direct sales with our digital books. Not to say we don’t have floppies as rewards, but this is limit-contact business. And we will have surprise GrabBags!!

Trying to limit exposure is the only moral thing to do but morality gets a bit blurred in our newest chapter in the story of an arch demon, a misfit mage, a mystic, and a puppy clashing about Italian cities in search of purpose and some good wine.

Thank you for your support in a time like this. Hopefully, we’ll get through and create more fantastic stories.

Cheers!!
