Damn Heroes
DAMN HEROES OMNIBUS: A Decade of Misery. All in One Book.
Welcome to Hero City: It's Not a Utopia. It's a Hell Hole.
For ten long years, this sad little man has been forced to dance for our amusement, and now, his full, agonizing history has been collected. The Damn Heroes Omnibus is the definitive, unmissable compendium of the world's most cynical, bureaucratic, and utterly incompetent super-powered individuals.
This massive volume contains every single webcomic strip from the series’ decade-long run, tracing the entire, exhausting story of our protagonists from volume one through the present.
The Story: Five Years of Community Service (and a Lifetime of Existential Dread)
The commercials might call Hero City a "paradise on earth." Our hero protagonist, Sebastian, calls it a "hell hole."
Meet Sebastian, the poor schmuck who earned a five-year sentence of community service just for driving slightly over the speed limit in a town full of superheroes.
Having superpowers doesn't mean glory; it means mandated toil. Sebastian is sentenced to work in a city protected by "overly righteous, and slightly incompetent, super heroes". His daily tasks involve cleaning up Giant Kaiju poops and being entertainment for "incredibly spry" retired superheroes.
This is superhero satire disguised as community service. It’s an ongoing, episodic tragedy of the mundane, proving that even super-powered beings are victims of bureaucracy and tedium.
The Iron Fist of the Creators:
Damn Heroes was created by the minds of two “friends”, tyrannical writer, Mark C. Frankel, and “Con Artist”, Alex Sapountzis, It took these two jokers ten years to tell a five year story, so brevity is not their strong suit. When Mark and Alex aren’t torturing Sebastian or mocking super heroes, they can be found sucking at comics. No seriously, that’s the name of their other series, We Suck at Comics.
