Creator Highlight - Daniel Stalter and Elioh Kortsarz Suck At Comics
As part of our ongoing series in the leadup to launching our next Kickstarter for We Suck At Comics: Volume Two, we will be highlighting…
Daniel Stalter and Elioh Kortsarz!
Daniel Stalter is a Bronx based writer and has been publishing the webcomic Dream Crasher since 2015. He writes reviews for old nineties teen horror novels like the Goosebumps and Fear Street books and contributors to the Geeks Out Blog. If that wasn’t enough, Daniel also runs a comics workshop with the Brooklyn Speculative Fiction Writers. He is currently working on expanding his short story portfolio.
Daniel writes a lot of weird horror through a queer lens that grapples with themes of shame and self-actualization. When he’s not writing, he is an avid bike rider and proud dog dad.
Elioh Kortsarz is a comic book artist born in Salta Argentina. She has been working in the field since 2003 on books like Supercake, the first lesbian Argentine superheroine, who fights against the lodge of Evil, which prohibits people from living their sexuality freely. She is also the co-creator of the publishers Egoss Comics and Oso Ruso Ediciones.
Daniel and Elioh’s story Euphoria is about Alix who steps outside of his own reality for the first time. He realizes that he is in love with Warren, but knows that it will never last. Daniel and Elioh worked to shift the entire color pallet when Alix stumbles down proverbial the rabbit hole. The vibrant and surreal colors help to accentuate Alix's own perspective expanding and shifting. As Alix realizes he is not willing to go as far as Warren, he is forced to draw a line that divides them.
