Errant Adventures

Submissions are now open for We Suck At Comics, Volume Three!

We are looking for stories that fit the following theme - Errant Adventures. As always, we are truly excited to see your stories and your take on the theme. You don’t have to be too literal - not every story has to be about being lost on a road trip or wandering aimlessly in the forest, but we do want to know why you feel your piece fits the theme, Errant Adventures! The theme for Volume One was Rejection and the theme for Volume Two was Coloring Outside the Lines and we received some truly interesting pieces for both.

This is a paid project! The payment structure shall be outlined in the acceptance letter.

Errant Adventures: Content Requirements

We like unique stuff. So if your work breaks the panels, breaks down barriers, is experimental or is just plain different, that may fit this volume perfectly! We fully embrace the innovative indie scene in comics. That doesn’t mean you can’t send us superheroes stuff. We like that too, but give us a twist of some kind. We also like seeing stuff from newcomers to comics. Oftentimes those are some of the most interesting pieces!

Imagine that there are no rules, because there probably aren’t (well, besides the aforementioned ones. Fine, you caught us!). We named the company Wayward Raven because we aren’t followers, we like to make our own path. We detest regulations and authority, so help us break out!

  • Comics: Completed short-form comic book works that are no longer than 12 pages. We don’t have a preference between color and black and white, so long as it serves the story.

  • Prose/Short Stories: completed prose/stories which are no longer than 2500 words.

Please note, all files submitted should conform to the following guidelines:

  • For two-page spreads, please remember this will be printed, so don’t put letters in the middle of the spread

  • Art files should be TIFF, PSD or other High Resolution, print ready format (no JPGs pleeeeeeeease)
