We Survived Terrificon 2025! Recap from Mohegan Sun, CT

The gambling paid off—we had a Terrifi(con) weekend! Wayward Raven Media was thrilled to be back at Terrificon 2025 in the Mohegan Sun Earth Expo & Convention Center, Uncasville, CT. We spent three glorious days (August 8-10) in Artist's Alley, Booth G18, meeting fellow Connecticut comic lovers and generally bringing our special brand of self-aware chaos.  

We were overwhelmed by the number of fans who stopped by to chat about the state of the indie comics scene and, of course, to hear the real stories behind the books.

What Was Hot at the Booth?

We brought the big guns this year, featuring the anthologies that defined our mission:

• Our latest anthology, We Suck at Comics: Volume 2 - Coloring Outside The Lines which celebrates boundary-pushing stories and unique creative visions. Attendees grabbed their copies and got them signed by the creators!  

  
  

• The fan-favorite volume, We Suck at Comics: Volume 1 - that kicked off the chaos, exploring the theme of creative rejection with humor and heart.

  
  

• The Goofy Antics: From impromptu zaniness to deeper, more serious conversations about our vision, the Wayward Raven Crew was there for it all.  

  
  

And, yes, we know you asked: we were thrilled to share a taste of Mark's famous secret brew!

We did it—we survived a decade and returned to the behemoth: San Diego Comic-Con 2025! Our team held down the fort at Small Press Booth P-12, and the chaos was glorious.

This appearance marked the official, highly-anticipated debut and launch of our latest indie comic anthology, We Suck at Comics, Volume 2: Coloring Outside the Lines. Fans who visited the booth scored

Undiscovered Realm Comic Con 2025: Chaos in White Plains!

We hit up Undiscovered Realm Comic Con 2025 and brought our special brand of self-aware chaos to Table 9 in the Westchester County Center, White Plains, NY! The weekend was packed with creators, fans, and deep discussions about the art of indie publishing.  

Attendees who stopped by found us with:

• Fan-Favorite Graphic Novels: We featured core titles like the sci-fi epic Horsemen, the supernatural adventure The Ascendant, and the action-packed Damn Heroes.  

  
  
  

• The Original Anthology: Copies of We Suck At Comics: Volume 1 - Rejection were available, and we encouraged fans to share their own "rejection" stories!  

  
  
  

• Mark's Famous Secret Brew: Yes, the legend is true. Mark Frankel made his special secret brew just for the event!

We're going to be at a new spot this year, booth 431 in the corner near the Venders area. Details to follow but expect a bigger presence this year.

Looks like we're heading back to Vermont this year!

This is becoming one of our new favorite shows and we'll be happy to see everyone there again.

Also looking forward to some more Heady Topper and other brews from Alchemist!

We're going to be at Small Press Q-13 for San Diego Comic Con 2017. Be sure to stop by if you're in the area.

As of now, we're planning on having three new books; The Committee #2, the complete trade of Signed C: The Missing, and a new one-shot title, inFusion.

Unfortunately, we're not going to be shipping any home brew to SDCC, but we plan on having some other goodies.

We'll be at East Coast Comic Con again this year! It's right in Alex's back yard, so expect him to be there doing commissions, and with two of his newest prints!

Mark will also be there, and if you ask him nicely (and provide valid ID) he might just give you a home-brew!

We'll be kicking off the first con of the year at Green Mountain Comic Expo in Barre, Vermont.

It's going to be our fist time in Barre, so we're really excited to be presenting.

Alex will be there doing commissions, so please ask him to draw stuff. He loves obscure characters, so feel free to challenge him.

Mark's also excited to be slinging comics in one of the biggest beer towns in the country. If you love beer, stop by our table!

We've got two tables also, #37 and #38, so you can't miss us!

We've got some great stuff in store for our friends and fans this year at NYCC.

First of all, we're excited to announce that Horsemen #3 will be premiering at NYCC, and to celebrate, we're doing a great bundle pack. Get issues 1, 2, and 3 for (drumroll, please) $12!

Second, we've managed to get this to the printers just in time for NYCC, Damn Heroes Volume 2! Sebastian's misadventures continue in Volume 2, and as a way of sharing in his misery, we're doing a bundle pack as well. Get Volumes 1 and 2 for only $22, plus a print of one of our many Damn Heroes Strips from the last 4 years. If you ask nicely, Alex may even draw in the book for you.

Lastly, we've recently sold out of our Surprise Bats ladies t-shirts, but since we love Harley so much, we've updated the design and added a bit of punch. Since everyone all kept asking for tank tops, we listened and made our new Surprise Bats: Suicide Squad Edition Tank tops!
